Meet Pamela

Pamela Davidson is an active member of the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), employed by John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline. Her union activism has led to several elected positions at the local, regional and national levels, including former president of the national Civil & Human Rights Council, president of the Region 4 Civil & Human Rights Council, and Trustee of Local 865. Davidson is also the elected chair of the Knox County Board – the first African American woman to do so -- and is a three-term elected representative for Galesburg District 3.  She is also chairwoman of the Knox County Democrats.  She is currently a delegate to the 2020 Democratic National Convention supporting Vice President Joe Biden.
Throughout her life, as a political activist, she has committed herself to the service of others.  Davidson has been actively involved in state and federal government, including as Democratic precinct delegate.  She is a graduate of the Class of 2015, Illinois Women's Institute for Leadership (IWL).  A Galesburg native, she is active in many community and civic organizations. Davidson worked at Maytag for 15 years until the plant closed. In her free time Davidson enjoys riding her Street Glide Harley Davidson on a beautiful day, and regularly attends church on Sunday. Pamela is a proud mother of a thirty-year-old son, Justin, and grandmother of eight-year-old Liam.
Why Vote for Pamela
I seek election to the State Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Illinois.  As a State Central Committeewoman, it will be my goal to work with all counties in the 17th Congressional District to make sure our concerns and aspirations are heard by the Democratic Party leadership and reflected in the party’s platform and priorities.  As a longtime proud union member, I will ensure that the voice of organized labor, along with the voices of women and people of color, are fully represented within the Democratic Party. In addition, I will work to see that strong Democrats are nominated and elected to all statewide, regional, and county-level offices throughout our region.
